Traditionally, most Filipinos especially those who grew up in provinces spend their Holy Week in visiting pilgrimage sites. They love visiting the churches, well-known holy sites, sacred mountain, miraculous places, and the like. Well, this is so true because this tradition has been passed to us by our grandparents, aunties and uncles.
Just like me and my cousins, we’d love to visit pilgrimage sites and churches during Holy Week. That is one of our ways to look back on what Jesus did during his holy years. Remembered his works, preaches, words, and story. Commemorating his holiness and giving thanks for the life we have now because of Him.
Kamay ni Hesus (Hands of Jesus) is a 50-foot sculptured architecture located on top of the hill with His welcoming hands wide open. Hundreds of concrete pavement steps need to scale up to reach the masterpiece and Stations of the Cross were strategically located within the path. Various religious works of art can be found there and scenic view on top of the hill is awesome. Religious souvenir items were handcrafted and on sale in their small store near the Church. Anyhow, this is a must visit place in Lucban Quezon but expect crowded environment during Lenten season (the day we visited the place, 06 April 2009) and Pahiyas Festival of the said town.
